In the spacious, fully equipped kitchen you will find a 5-burner gas stove, oven and fridge.
The Emma also offers a spacious seating area on deck. While enjoying a drink, you can watch a beautiful sunset, the life in the harbour or the splashing water while sailing.

Sailing on the Emma
If it’s up to Peter, the engine will run as little as possible. So sailing enthusiasts will certainly enjoy themselves on the Emma. Sailing on the Emma means using the wind as much as possible, and therefore practically climate neutral, from one place to another!
From her home port in Lemmer, Emma sails both on the Frisian inland waterways, as well as on the IJsselmeer and on longer trips on the Wadden Sea. Due to the low draft of this sailing vessel, it is possible to dry-dock on a sandbar during some of the tides.
When sailing through Friesland, Peter likes to moor on 'Konijneneiland', an island in the Heegermeer near Heeg. A campfire or a game of field football will give your holiday on the water just that little bit extra!
While sailing, the group can help with hoisting and lowering the sails, along with other work on deck. The sailor will give the necessary instructions.

The crew of the Emma
Owner and skipper, Peter Spek, was busy enough as a maths teacher and software expert. But sailing, far away from the ever-increasing pressure on the shore, nevertheless had an irresistible attraction and that led to the purchase of the Emma.
Peter is an enthusiastic sailor with an enormous knowledge of sailing. He likes to let his guests enjoy the beautiful and peaceful places around the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea and in Friesland.

The history of the Emma
Building on the Emma began in 1889. Iron tjalks (ships) were built from around 1880; in which shipyard this ship was built is unfortunately unknown. Tjalks were used as cargo ships mainly on Dutch waters. They were the most widely used inland vessel. This is mainly due to their large load capacity and the flat, wide bottom, which enabled the ship to sail on large, deep and small, narrow waters.
The Emma has been completely renovated into a comfortable sailing ship with a spacious day room and efficient cabin layout. The sailing plan was rebuilt at the beginning of the 21st century to the 1-mast fork rig, which also existed in 1889, which greatly benefits both the sailing characteristics and the traditional appearance.
